How to get involved
Share your professional skills
Since 2012, BIG Alliance has helped over 2,700 volunteers deliver their skills and expertise to charities and community groups, providing over 12,000 hours of skilled support.
Both as an individual or as part of a small group, volunteers have the opportunity to test and develop their skills, as well as gaining new experiences.

Challenges
Through our Team Challenge programme, we placed 2500+ volunteers into the community in 2023/24 and they helped maintain and improve community gardens, city farms, parks, school gardens and adventure playgrounds.
This work is especially vital in Islington, which has the least amount of green space of any London borough.
Inspire a young person
Our flagship Education programme, Mentoring Works, recently celebrated 1000+ young people mentored in Islington.
We match volunteers from local businesses with local students over the course of an academic year, with sessions focused on helping students prepare for the world of work.

volunteers were placed across communities to create, maintain and improve community spaces.
